I have been looking for different ways to organize some of my jewelry and was having a hard time finding anything functional and pretty at the same time. For years now my necklaces have been sitting in my closet and honestly, I forget that I even have them. So I decided that maybe if they were in sight I'd be inclined to wear them more often. We'll see if that works ; )
I was inspired by a pin I saw that had vintage spools attached to a shelf, but I thought it might look a little more interesting, and easier, to attach them directly to the wall. I first inserted long screws into the wall and then slipped the center of each spool right over them.
I decided to keep the thread on some of the spools. I love the hints of bright vintage color peeking out from behind the necklaces. Such fun to create something so quickly and for only a few dollars.
